I am studying the structure and dynamics of complex communities of interacting species using a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches. My current work seeks to understand the role of species and individual-level traits for the structure and dynamics plant-pollinator networks and food webs. My approach is to bring models and data closer together to uncover how macroscopic properties of ecological networks emerge from the interactions of individuals.
