MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS

· Insect seasonality – diapause; architecture of the photoperiodic timer (at molecular, genetic and cellular levels), geographic variability of the photoperiodic timer, Juvenile hormone signaling in insect reproduction.

· Pyrrhocoris apterus as a new insect model – endocrinology (neuropeptides, evolution of neuropeptide receptors), reproductive behavior, circadian clock, phylogeography of P. apterus and its adaptation, technique development (RNA interference, genome editing, organ cultures).

· Drosophila melanogaster – temperature compensation of the circadian clock, CRISPR/CAS9 and related tools for targeted mutagenesis.
