  • Insect seasonality – diapause; architecture of photoperiodic timer (at molecular, genetic and cellular levels), geographic variability of the photoperiodic timer, Juvenile hormone signaling in reproduction of insects.
  • Pyrrhocoris apterus as a new insect model – endocrinology (neuropeptides, evolution of neuropeptide receptors), reproductive behavior, circadian clock, phylogeography of P. apterus and its adaptation, technique development (RNA interference, genome editing, organ cultures).
  • Drosophila melanogaster – temperature compensation of circadian clock, CRISPR/CAS9 as a tool for targeted mutagenesis.
  • Evolution of circadian genes – magnetoreception (using insect models), circadian clock in protozoa (small hobby project on Chromera velia, ancestor of Plasmodium).
