Laboratory of Integrative Ecology

We are doing research on ecological networks with multiple interaction types, such as plant-flower visitor, plant-herbivore, and predator-prey interactions. Our aim is to understand the mechanistic underpinning of the structure of ecological networks, to evaluate the robustness of ecological networks to environmental changes, and to use this knowledge for the conservation of biodiversity. Our research ranges from studies on individual-level insect behaviour and pollination biology of selected plant species to analyses of the structure of complex ecological networks. We like to take an integrative approach combining small-scale laboratory experiments, observational and experimental research in the field, DNA metabarcoding, and simulation models.
