Laboratory of Digital Imaging in Entomology
Our Laboratory has been established in last weeks of the
year 1998. Why we would like to apply digital imaging in entomology? Because
we are deeply involved in various research programs concerning insects
and other arthropods. Especially Insect is a group of animals with numerous
species of different morphology and physiology living in almost all biotopes
you can imagine. Entomology is very developed traditional as well as modern
biological discipline using classical imaging techniques very often. So,
application of recent methods of digital imaging to entomology could brings
similar advantages as in other fields of biology. And, in addition,
we would like to use such modern methods in combination with our long-term
experiences for some specific entomological questions.
